1. Intro to Task Workflow
StudioBinder’s team collaboration features enable you to better manage projects, assign tasks, and track progress…
…which means a smoother production experience where you get more work done, faster and with less mistakes.
So let’s take a look at it right now.
2: Inviting Team Members
We made it super easy and flexible to invite team members into StudioBinder.
If you want to invite a team member to collaborate on an account,
…Just sign in and go to the Teams page.
This page displays the number of team seats this account has purchased.
In this case, it’s just me.
I’ll go ahead and add a new team seat by clicking here.
You can add as many seats as you like.
As you edit the number of team seats, your total will update to reflect the changes.
1 should be enough for now… and then I’ll confirm it…
…and now you can see a new team seat has been added to this account.
So now I’m going to invite someone to fill that seat.
Just click here, type in some basic information, and send out the invite.
The recipient will be labeled as Pending. As soon as they create an account, they’ll show up as active and you can start collaborating together on the project.
So as you can see, it’s very easy and flexible to scale team members as you go…
So you can get them in, get started, and work together to reach production goals faster.
3: Adding Tasks with Cards
So now that we have team members on this account, it’s time to get organized and create tasks.
We’ve removed all the friction from collaborating on tasks by adding a Sidebar on every page. That way, you can work together without losing context.
For example, let’s say I go to the call sheets page, and notice there are some revisions I want to assign to my team member:
- …I can just expand the sidebar here…
- ….and create a new task card…
- …I’ll give it a title, in this case “Call Sheet Refinements.”
I can click on it to expand the details and see it’s chockfull of helpful tools to get everything in order:
- You can add Descriptions…
- Set the Status…
- Assign team members…
- …add Due dates…
- Upload file attachments…
- even create todo lists.
So now you always know who’s working on what…
…and they know what needs to be done.
If you’re playing catchup, that’s easy too.
You can add comments for a card right here, so if someone has questions or feedback, it’s easy to keep the dialogue going, and move forward.
Now, if I close out the Details popup, I can see the updated card in my sidebar.
The colored strips on every card represent the status of that card, so at a glance I know which cards are on hold, in progress, waiting for approval, or completed.
To update the status of a card, just go back into the Details, and click here.
(beat) I can add more cards, and reorder them the way I like.
We made sure that transparency and accountability are built in to every page.
4: Overview Page
We’ve also made it quick and easy to see all of the cards in a project on 1 page, so nothing slips through the cracks.
Just go to your Project Overview page, and go here to scroll through the cards.
The color coding represents the status.
The icons indicate which page the card was created on.
Just like any other page, you can expand the card, and edit it as well.
5: Workflow page
Projects can have a lot of tasks and moving parts. On the face of it, you’ve got a bunch of cards.
But take a closer look.
Some of those cards are finished
Some need to be reviewed….
and some just need to be dealt with later.
and some just need to be put on hold.
That’s where the Workflow page comes in.
It’s a better way for everyone to visualize progress within a project.
When a card is completed, just drag it to the next column, which then updates the status of the card…..and take a deep breath.
And as always, you can change the status of a card from anywhere inside StudioBinder.
Back in your Workflow, get a birds-eye-view of your entire project, view Details, assign todos, upload files, add comments, and notify people when changes are made.
And for pro users, you’ll be able to customize your workflow:
Add and remove columns, rearrange them, change their names, colors, and make it work for your organization.
Workflow: Manage your projects, at a glance.
