Video Apps 101

Video Editing App Preface

What is the best video editing app? How do you know without first understanding your needs, your goals, and your device?

Many video editing apps may only be available for specific platforms. Apps that work on an iPad or iPhone (iOS) may not work on an Android device. Some apps work with iOS, but won’t work on Mac OS (Macbooks and iMacs), and some apps are compatible with Windows as well.

We’ve included all of the necessary information for you to find the right video editing app for your device, as well as providing useful information on free vs paid, capabilities, and if it’s right for your needs.

BEST VIDEO EDITING APP

1. Adobe Premiere Rush

Adobe Rush Video Editor Tutorial

This video maker app is much easier to use than Adobe Premiere, and gives you four video tracks and three audio tracks to place sound design and music. The export options make it easy to post on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and Vimeo.

This video app allows you to do almost everything you need with regard to titles and branding. It works across all devices, and because the video editor has a built-in camera function, you can capture footage and then edit and share to social media from a phone, tablet, or desktop.

Adobe Rush provides professionally designed motion graphics templates right inside the app, and you can find even more of these on Adobe Stock. This video editing app also syncs your projects to the cloud, so you can access your footage from anywhere.

  1. I found apps like Filmora Go and Kinemaster quite confusing (or that may be overwhelming because I am not used to editing on phone). However, I would like to try Adobe Premiere Rush from the list because those from Adobe are what I have been using all along. I hope this one doesn’t put me down. Anyways, thanks for sharing that list.
